What is BitcoinBitcoin is censorship-resistant, decentralized, deflationary money. Bitcoin is here to stay and change the world. That may sound very polemical, but I would like to try with these websites to explain the basic ideas and facts why Bitcoin was created and why it will and has already changed the world. But first a little warning: If you really want to understand Bitcoin, you have to spend at least 100 hours in a wide variety of disciplines. Bitcoin requires at least knowledge of physics, mathematics, computer science, economics and finance. Bitcoiners have often made the experience that there are many experts in one of the areas but these do not know or underestimate the other aspects of other disciplines of Bitcoin. A cryptologist might look at the encryption and say that's ok, but there are nicer/stronger encryption methods. A financial scholar might say Bitcoin is great, but we have a functioning financial system. We don't need Bitcoin for that. A physicist might say it's nice that bitcoin is backed with energy and time, but the values to be protected are only bits and bytes and therefore worthless. A computer scientist could copy the bitcoin source code and create his own money. Only when all disciplines interact together, Bitcoin show its true strength. Take a look around the website and discover Bitcoin. The more you learn about Bitcoin, the deeper you go down the rabbit hole. With a little interest and a lot of skepticism, it will be an incredible journey.
